Team
The Animal Welfare Committee has been operating at the Nencki Institute since 2015 and currently consists of 8 people. All of the members of the Committee have great experience in working with animals. They finished many training in animal care, animal experimentation and animal welfare. The Animal Welfare Committee works closely with the veterinarian.

Tasks
The tasks of Animal Welfare Committee:
- controlling the conduct of experiments on animals, approved by the Ethics Committee
- providing advice on matters related to animal welfare, regarding the obligation to apply the principles of replacement, reduction and refinement
- supervising the welfare of animals kept at the Institute
- carrying out the adoption of rats from the Institute
Adoption
The Animal Welfare Team assists in the adoption of rats from the Institute. For this purpose, the Nencki Institute has signed an agreement and cooperates with the Foundation Lab Rescue Laboratory Animal Adoptions.
