The C-Trap system combines three core technologies: multi-trap optical tweezers, confocal fluorescence microscopy, and pressure-driven laminar microfluidics. It enables real-time manipulation of single molecules (e.g., DNA, proteins) with sub-nanometer precision and force measurements at sub-piconewton resolution. Integrated confocal imaging allows simultaneous correlation of mechanical and fluorescence data, providing insights into biological processes at the single-molecule level under near-physiological conditions. Typical applications include DNA–protein interaction studies, chromatin dynamics, protein folding/unfolding, and molecular complex mechanics.
