After seven years at the National Institutes of Health, Dr Paweł Trzaskoma is returning to Poland to establish a new laboratory at the Nencki Institute. His return and the development of his research team will be supported by a grant from the NAWA Polish Returns programme, which helps researchers bring the expertise they have gained abroad back to Poland and develop their own research here.
In his newly established laboratory, Dr Trzaskoma will investigate the mechanisms that regulate gene activity and what happens when this regulation goes wrong. A central focus of his research will be transcription, drawing on the expertise he developed in the US and the unique research capabilities available at the Nencki Institute.
We are very happy that Dr Paweł Trzaskoma will be developing his research ideas at the Nencki Institute. We wish him and his new laboratory a great start and every success with the projects ahead!
The project is funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), agreement no. BPN/PPO/2025/1/00029/U/00001.
