On September 29th, 2017, during an open sitting of the Nencki Institute Scientific Council meeting, a ceremony took place, during which the Director of the Institute, prof. Adam Szewczyk, in his thanks for special contributions to the development of the Institute, awarded the Medal for the 100th anniversary of the Nencki Institute: prof. Krystyna Dec (Deputy Director of the Nencki Institute 1980-1991), prof. Leszek Kaczmarek (President of the Scientific Council 2007-2014), prof.
